Design Internship Week 2
Monday:
Today, I began collaborating with a new client who happens to be an influencer and fitness coach. It was quite thrilling as this client had previously been a coach on a prominent TV show a few years ago. However, working with this client proved to be challenging since their team lacked a clear design vision. It was evident that design was not their area of expertise, as they provided a variety of inspirations for their emails that seemed scattered and disconnected. It left me uncertain about the direction they wanted to pursue, so I reached out to Melissa for assistance. Together, we engaged in a brainstorming session and generated several ideas. Subsequently, I commenced the design process, and we ultimately stayed relatively close to their initial inspirations. Given that this was a fresh collaboration with a new client, we are still in the process of discovering their preferences and dislikes.
Wednesday:
Today, I also commenced work with another new client. Designing for this client proved to be significantly easier compared to the previous one since they already had their branding established. I must say, Melissa's work on their branding was absolutely fantastic, and I couldn't help but admire it. Working with clients for whom our studio has done branding is always an incredibly enjoyable experience. In the case of this client, their branding had a distinctly feminine touch. In the past, I received feedback encouraging me to push the boundaries and fearlessly break the rules in my designs. While I sometimes tend to stick to the safe zone, I made a conscious effort to shake things up and explore new ideas in the assets I designed for this client. Melissa was thrilled with the final designs, and her positive response further reinforced my confidence in the direction I took.
Friday:
Today, my focus was primarily on designing email and app assets for The Sculpt Society, which happens to be the client I work with most frequently at the studio. It feels like this client has become my baby since we've shared so many experiences together. However, the task of creating app assets presented some challenges due to mislabeled files from 2022 that we needed to reference for this project. Ensuring consistency across all app assets is crucial, as they require the same theme and sizes throughout. What makes this project particularly exciting is that I have The Sculpt Society's app downloaded on my device, allowing me to witness my work firsthand within the app itself. It's truly surreal, and I hope to showcase a substantial portion of the work I've accomplished for this client in my portfolio.
