Week 3 Design internship

Monday:

During my internship on week 3, I had the opportunity to work with a challenging client, Jen Widerstrom, and I can confidently say that I exceeded expectations with the email design project. Jen presented a unique situation as she lacked official branding and was uncertain about her preferences. However, our team managed to create a design that resonated with her. Thanks to the guidance and insights from Melissa, I learned the importance of closely adhering to the inspiration provided by clients in such situations, where a comprehensive understanding of their preferences may not be readily available. This approach proved successful, as Jen expressed her satisfaction with the design. This experience not only allowed me to showcase my design skills but also taught me valuable lessons in effectively interpreting client needs and working within challenging parameters.

Wednesday

On Wednesday of my third week during the internship, I focused on creating event emails for TSS. This particular task was intriguing because we had previously worked on numerous email modules for them. It allowed me to utilize and adapt existing modules to meet the specific requirements of the event. One significant lesson I learned during this process was the paramount importance of maintaining well-organized layers in Photoshop. At the studio, this practice is highly encouraged and considered standard, and I witnessed firsthand how disorienting it can be when opening an asset in Photoshop with messy layers. This experience emphasized the significance of structuring my design files in a clear and systematic manner, ensuring efficiency, ease of editing, and collaboration with team members.
