Week 10 internship

Monday

Today was a refreshing departure from my usual digital design tasks as I had the opportunity to work on print materials for a client at MHS. This involved designing business cards and a PDF for NP, using both Illustrator and InDesign. I particularly enjoy working in InDesign since it's a program I use less frequently at the studio. What made the experience even more satisfying was that most of my colleagues don't utilize paragraph styles, so I took the initiative to set up the document from the beginning, making it easier for anyone else who collaborates on the project. The chance to work on print materials and utilize InDesign's features to enhance efficiency was a rewarding experience during my shift.

Wednesday

Today marked the beginning of my training as a design proofer, and Olivia provided me with some training material to get started. Initially, I felt a bit nervous, but as I began proofing my own projects, I noticed that my attention to detail significantly improved when starting a project from scratch. Alongside the proofing tasks, we also worked on additional mockups for the TSS merch project. While it was disappointing to learn that not all the designs we presented were loved by the client, I am enthusiastic about the upcoming round of designs. I'm confident they will be well-received. The thought of seeing my designs on T-shirts and sweatshirts in a few months is incredibly exciting and motivates me to keep honing my skills and creating impactful designs for our clients.
